Our Kindergarten Program
Influenced by family, peers, and the world around them, Kindergarteners are distinctive among children in the way that they think and learn. Their natural curiosity and love of new experiences help to lead them to a greater understanding of themselves and the world they live in.
Our Kindergarten curriculum and its teachers are prepared to address the varied rates of development of our students while at the same time, ensuring that they are on track for future school success. The learning environment takes into account that children at this age learn best through active participation in a developmentally appropriate learning environment. Our teachers understand the need to prepare and provide a wide variety of activities that integrate all areas of the curriculum while at the same time, addressing the diversity of the children in their classroom.
Our program is designed to encourage critical thinking and decision making, and to provide for the development of skills and knowledge. Our Kindergarten integrates all areas of the academic disciplines, the arts, physical, and social/emotional development. Our Kindergarten utilizes the New Jersey Department of Education Core Curriculum Standards to ensure that student proficiencies are met or exceeded.
The children at Mountain Lakes Country Day School learn in a warm caring environment that has its focus on family and community values. Our center has been in operation for 10 years and we are proud of our caring committment to children and their families.
